MASTINO is a suite of functions coded in R for learning Bayesian Networks from data in the score-and-search framework. MASTINO is built on top of the package DEAL, (S. G. Bøttcher and C. Dethlefsen , 2003) and it provides various functions to enhance learning Bayesian Networks from data. Particularly in MASTINO the P-metric, (M.Mascherini and F.M. Stefanini, 2005, Mascherini and F.M. Stefanini 2007), to evaluate Bayesian Networks using prior information on structures, and the MGA algorithm, (M.Mascherini and F.M. Stefanini, 2005), to search for the best Bayesian Networks, are implemented as well as numerous others utility functions to manage BNs.
MASTINO is part of my PhD thesis, entitled "Learning Probabilistic Networks in Large and Structured Domain" successfully defended on February 2006 at the Department of Statistics of the University of Florence (Italy).
